Homemade Gatorade
Did you know that you can make your very own “gatorade” with only natural ingredients? It’s true. You can. And it’s dirt simple. When you’re exerting yourself and sweating (or on a hot summer day) you need to replenish your salt depots. But not just with any salt though. Table salt wont work here. Instead we use a salt with lots of minerals in it such as Himalayan pink salt, pink salt from Utah (if you want something closer to home) or natural sea salt. By adding lemon for vitamin C, ginger as an anti-inflammatory, and honey as both anti-inflammatory, an antioxidant and antibacterial agent, we’re really creating something truly nourishing for our body.
Ingredients
1 pint of water
1 tsp mineral potent salt
1 lemon, juice of
1 big chunk of ginger
honey to taste
How to
Add salt, lemon juice and honey to a pint sized jar. Grate the ginger, either separate or straight into the jar with a zester. Stir until the honey is dissolved. Add water to top of jar. Enjoy right away or store in fridge for later. Lasts up to two days.
